Nos anos 70 as rádios AM ainda predominavam e ganhavam a audiência nacional das recém-surgidas FMs. No Rio de Janeiro a campeã de audiência jovem era a famosa "Rádio Mundial" que também se fez representar com a espetacular coletânea "Sua Paz Mundial", já postada aqui no blog; e, a mais ouvida em São Paulo era a não menos famosa "Rádio Excelsior".

E foi Antonio Celso, radialista da Excelsior, quem criou a famosa frase: "Excelsior, A Máquina do Som", além dessa espetacular coletânea com os grandes sucessos da programação da rádio na época.
